A national corporate initiative encouraging organisations in Mauritius to reduce digital waste and contribute to environmental sustainability through simple, measurable action.

Digital Cleanup Day is a global environmental initiative under Let’s Do It World that encourages individuals and organisations to reduce digital pollution by deleting unnecessary data and improving digital hygiene.

The initiative operates across multiple countries and mobilises businesses, institutions and communities to take coordinated environmental action.

How Companies Participate in Mauritius

1. Register

Confirm your company’s participation and receive the Digital Cleanup Toolkit.

2. Take Action

Choose a day or week around 21 March 2026 and encourage employees to:

  • Delete unnecessary files

  • Empty recycle bins

  • Clean shared drives

  • Remove duplicate documents

  • Reduce email archives

  • Unsubscribe from unused mailing lists

3. Submit Results

Report:

  • Number of employees participating

  • Estimated gigabytes deleted

  • Devices or storage areas cleaned

Results are aggregated at national level and shared as part of Mauritius’ contribution to the global initiative.

Companies may choose to host a 30–45 minute internal awareness session on:

Digital Waste & Environmental Responsibility in the Workplace

This session explains:

  • The environmental impact of digital storage

  • Practical digital sustainability practices

  • How organisations can reduce ongoing digital waste

This is an optional add-on for organisations seeking structured internal engagement.

Local Coordination

Digital Cleanup Day Mauritius 2026 is coordinated locally by Tomek Joseph, Founder of World Cleanup Day Poland and member of the global environmental movement under Let’s Do It World.

The Mauritius initiative aims to:

  • Mobilise corporate participation

  • Aggregate national impact data

  • Share results with the global movement

  • Increase awareness of digital environmental responsibility
